LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition with Android 4.4, or KitKat

A few months ago rumors said a "Nexus" tablet with an 8 inch screen display would be released. Recently we were informed that this is a device with the name LG-V510. Finally, the tablet is manufactured by LG and sold by the Google Play store and is called LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition. Thus, there will be no Nexus 8. Not yet.

The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is exactly the same with LG G Pad 8.3, except for the software, that is Android 4.4, or KitKat. Therefore, it comes with a 1,900x1,200 full HD IPS display 273 ppi; a 1.7 quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor; ; 2GB of RAM; a rear 5MP camera and a 1.3MP front  camera;16GB of storage and a 4,600mAh battery.

The price of the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is $349. Note that it is the only "Google Play Edition" tablet at the online store of Google, and for now solely sold in the United States. Yesterday, Google also announced the Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition for $649.

Four new android tablets by HP

Rumors wanted HP to deal exclusively with Windows Phone, but HP is preparing to present 4 new tablets with Android OS, introduced in late 2013. The first tablet, named HP Slate 8 Pro, has a 7.98 inches display with 1600 × 1200 pixels resolution, with a pixel density above 250 ppi and a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Slate 8 Pro will be equipped with the new Tegra 4 of Nvidia, and will be equipped with 8 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front for video calling. Regarding the sound, HP has equipped its tablets with Beats Audio. It will also have micro HDMI output for direct connection to TVs and projectors and will accept additional memory via micro SD slot.

The next 2 tablets of the company, Slate 7 HD and Slate 10 HD have the same hardware except for the display, which is 7inch and 10 inch respectively. Their screen resolution is 1280 × 800 pixels, with  215 and 150 ppi pixel density respectively. These two tablets will be within the 200-300 U.S. Dollars price range.


Finally, the HP Slate 7 Extreme, will have a Tegra 4 processor with 1280 × 800 pixels resolution, 16 GB internal memory, and a stylus. The Slate 7 Extreme, may be released with 5 megapixel rear camera and VGA in the front and 16 GB internal memory for file storage.

Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue, Tablet and Phone with a 7-inch display

Huawei announced the MediaPad 7 Vogue with a 7-inch LCD display and resolution 1024 × 600 pixels (IPS), quad-core processor 1.2GHz, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and able to make phone calls. This device competes ASUS FonePad and Xperia Z Ultra. Other characteristics include GPS, 4100 mAh battery (20hrs of calling) and aluminum chassis 9.5 mm. thick and a total weight of 335 g. MediaPad 7 is pre-installed with email, word processing, Facebook, YouTube, and GPS navigation, and also features Huawei’s proprietary Emotion UI 1.5.

Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue has been launched in China in black and white and will be released in other countries on July/August.

FonePad Note FHD 6, ASUS's phone-tablet hybrid with a 6 inch display and stylus

One of the highlights of this year's Computex 2013 was the ASUS FonePad Note  FHD 6, an addition  to the phablets category. It has 6 inches LCD IPS + display with FHD 1920 × 1080 pixels resolution and pixel density of 367 ppi. It incorporates a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB memory RAM  and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Additionally, it includes a 8GB or 16GB of internal storage plus a microSD card slot, 3G capabilities (but not 4G) a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera and 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. The price for this phablet has not been revealed yet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Series

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 series have been completed with the new models Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 with 10.1 and 8 inches display respectively. 

The 10.1 inch model has a WXGA TFT display with a 1280 × 800 pixels  resolution of, a dual-core processor at 1.6GHz, RAM 1GB, a 3 Megapixel rear camera, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera and a 6.800 mAh battery.

The 8-inch model has a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, a 1.5GHz processor, memory RAM 1.5GB, rear camera 5 Megapixel, front camera 1.3 Megapixel, slot for micro SD memory card and battery 4.450 mAh.

For both tablets the manufacturer of the prossessor in not known yet, but it can be assumed to be Intel Atom Clover Trail+, possibly the Z2560 at 1.6 GHz.  These models will run Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and will be available with internal memory of 16GB or 32GB, 4G/LTE and GPS or Wi-Fi only. The price for these tablet has not been revealed yet.

Sony XPERIA Tablet Z Review

Japan-based giant Sony confirms that the interest on its new tablet is greater than ever. That makes sense, since the Xperia Tablet Z is the best tablet from Sony.

The Xperia Tablet Z is already available worldwide and Sony is promoting its new Android tablet more than any other model. Along with the Xperia Z smartphone, the new Android tablet comes to complete Sony's vision for an all-around entertainment and communication experience. What is more to be seen is the PlayStation 4 which has been shown in a teaser video.


Worthy replacement for the older generation of Sony S tablets, Sony Xperia Tablet Z comes with quad-core processor Snapdragon S4 Pro at 1.5GHz, Adreno 320, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage space and 10.1-inch screen with full HD 1920 x 1200 resolution. If 32GB of storage is not enough, there is the option of using a memory card microSD (up to 64GB) . Sony claims that is water and dust resistant is designed to be submersible up to 90cm for half an hour. It is 6.9mm thick and supports additional electronics such as NFC, WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n dual band, Bluetooth 4.0, the audio technology S-Force Front Surround 3D for virtual surround sound from Sony, a battery of 6000mAh, 495 grams in weight and Android 4.1. A brand new, improved Nexus 7

Nexus 7.2, the next Nexus model will have a screen of 1920×1200 pixels resolution and is expected to be announced soon and more specifically in the Google I/O which is a conference where Google intoduces its new products.

According to reports, Google is expected to hold this event in a few weeks and will officially announce the next Nexus 7.2 tablet which will be an upgrade to Nexus 7. Rumors say that the 7inch LTPS display technology with a 1920×1200 pixels resolutions is already being manufactured by the company "AU Optronics".
Nexus 7.2 is expected to have additional connectivity functions. Nexus 7 had both Wi-Fi and cellular satellites connectivity when released. It can be assumed that Nexus 7.2 will be LTE-enabled.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 tablet supporting 3G and Wi-Fi only

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is here with 7-inch LCD, resolution 1024 × 600 pixels and in two versions: 3G + Wi-Fi (supports phone) and Wi-Fi only. The new 7inch Galaxy Tab integrates dual core processor 1.2GHz, RAM 1GB memory 3 Megapixel Camera and second front camera 1.3 Megapixel on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The new tablet, which carries the device number SM-T211, is between 30 per cent and 110 per cent more powerful than its predecessor, Galaxy Tab 2.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 will be released in May, and prices have not been announced. In May also expected models are Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.
